Women and girls with Spina Bifida have specific needs and concerns, especially in the context of sexuality, pregnancy, and childbirth. Every woman’s and girl’s body undergoes multiple changes throughout her lifetime, and these changes are further impacted by Spina Bifida. - SB-YOU: Women’s Health and Self-Advocacy – In this presentation, Tara Harris, MD at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, and five women with Spina Bifida will talk about what should (and shouldn’t) happen during a Well-Woman preventive care appointment, and what steps women should take to be active participants in their health care. Please be advised that this presentation will describe Well-Woman preventive care exams and reproductive care in detail.
