The Spina Bifida Association Welcomes Ian Joyce as Its Newest Team Member
We are thrilled to announce that Ian Joyce has joined the Spina Bifida Association as the Chief Operating Officer! Ian brings a wealth of experience from both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors, making him a valuable addition to our organization.
Most recently, Ian served as Chief Marketing and Mission Experience Officer for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, where he led efforts in marketing, patient advocacy, family support, and special projects and events. Before that, he founded August Communication Consultants, providing strategic guidance to clients across industries including health care, higher education, financial services, and enterprise software.
Ian’s passion for mission-driven work is evident in his deep roots in the nonprofit world. He has been a longtime volunteer with Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF), where he has played a key role in evolving national peer-to-peer fundraising programs, serves on the Chief Marketing Officer’s brand advisory committee, and is a member of the Global Mission Board, helping to engage and activate volunteers worldwide. He has also advised multiple nonprofits on organizational strategy, marketing, and grant development.
Beyond his professional and volunteer work, Ian is a talented photographer, writer, and enthusiastic traveler. He calls Upstate New York home, residing between the stunning landscapes of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Park.
Please join us in welcoming Ian to the Spina Bifida Association! We are excited for the expertise, passion, and fresh perspective he brings to our team.
