Resources that Promote a Healthy School Environment for Students Living with Spina Bifida.
Beyond Crayons provides resources to help Chapters, clinics, and families work with schools to address learning and health challenges in children with Spina Bifida.
Parents and Health professionals can use the Beyond Crayons Program to:
- Prepare for meetings to discuss Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Plans, federally mandated programs that provide special arrangements and adjustments to the school environment or teaching strategies to assist students with health and or learning challenges.
- Educate teachers, school nurses, and other personnel on Spina Bifida and its related conditions.
- Increase knowledge and understanding on the learning and health challenges that can be associated with Spina Bifida.
